Wenn du mir auf Snapchat folgst, dann konntest du am Wochenende schon ein Bisschen mit mir durch die Innerschweiz reisen. Ich reise häufig und gerne ins Ausland und habe dabei meine eigene Nachbarschaft ein wenig vernachlässigt. Dabei haben wir so schöne Plätzchen direkt vor der Haustüre. Deshalb habe ich mir vorgenommen, wieder öfter auch ein Tourist im eigenen Land zu sein.
If you follow me on Snapchat, you have already had the chance to come along a little trip to central Switzerland last weekend. I travel abroad a lot and have neglected my own neighborhood over the last few years. And in Switzerland, we have so many incredibly beautiful spots right on our door step. So, I have decided to be a tourist in my own country more often.
Erster Halt – das Stanserhorn. Wieso denn das Stanserhorn? Mal abgesehen davon, dass es mitten in einer herrlichen Landschaft gelegen ist und einen wunderschönen Ausblick auf über 100 Kilometer der Alpenkette bietet, hat das Stanserhorn auch noch die erste „oben ohne“ Luftseilbahn der Welt.
First stop – the Stanserhorn. Why the Stanserhorn? Apart from being set in a wonderful landscape and having an incredibly beautiful view on 100 kilometers of the Alps, the Stanserhorn has the first roofless cable car in the world.
Okay, die Tarife sind ganz schön happig, aber wir waren einfach zu neugierig auf die Fahrt mit dem CabriO. Erst fährt man mit dem Nostalgiebähnchen durch eine herrlich grüne, nach Heu duftende Landschaft zur Mittelstation. Einfach nur süss das Bähnchen und das Personal lustig, freundlich und erzählfreudig.
Okay, the fares are pretty hefty and might be a little downer, but we were too curious to let that experience go. For the first section, you take the little nostalgic cable car through a lush green hay infused landscape. The litte train is just cute and the drivers funny, friendly and talkativ.
In der Mittelstation steigt man um auf die CabriO Bahn. Leider haben auf der oberen Plattform nur 30 Personen Platz und so kommt es beim Aufstieg über die schmale Wendeltreppe zu leichtem „Pendlergedränge“. Der Städter ist hier klar im Vorteil…
After the first section, you change to the CabriO Bahn. Unfortunately, there’s space for 30 people only on the upper deck. Thus, there is the occasional pushing and shoving in front of the narrow circular stairs. The urbanite clearly is at an advantage here…
Die Fahrt selber ist wirklich sehr speziell. Der Wind weht einem um die Nase und die Aussicht ist ganz ungetrübt, ohne getönte oder angetatschte Kabinenscheiben. Viel zu schnell ist man dann schon oben.
The ride itself is great fun. The wind in your hair and a view without tinted or dab-covered windows – just fantastic. And just a little too short for my taste.
Das Stanserhorn selber ist ein kleiner Touristenzirkus. Ein Drehrestaurant, Sonnenliegen, eine Aussichtsplattform und ein Murmeltiergehege – ich könnte ehrlich gesagt auch gut ohne den ganzen Tourismusfirlefanz. Den grössten Kopfschüttler ausgelöst haben jedoch die Ranger, die wirklich aussehen wie Ranger in amerikanischen Nationalparks. Sie sind zwar nett und wissen viel zu erzählen, aber in den Schweizer Alpen?! Sorry, aber nein. Was ist denn mit dem guten alten Älpler?!
The Stanserhorn itself is a small touristic circus. A revolving restaurant, an observation deck, sunbeds and a marmot enclosure – I really could do without the touristy gew gaws. However, the strongest head-shaking was caused by Rangers who look just like the Rangers in American national parks. These guides are friendly and know a lot about the Stanserhorn and its surroundings, but in the Swiss Alps?! Sorry, but that’s a clear no for me. What about the good old Alpine herdsman?
Im Grossen und Ganzen hatten wir einen schönen Ausflug und haben die Sonne, die Aussicht, das saftige Grün, die nach Heu duftende frische Luft, das freundliche Personal und die „oben ohne“ Fahrt sehr genossen und dabei die hohen Preise und den Touristenzirkus ein Bisschen vergessen.
All in all, we had a great outing and enjoyed the sun, the view, the lush green, the fresh hay scented air, the friendly staff and the fun novelty ride, which made us forget the fares and the crazy circus a little bit.
Nächstes Mal geht es in ein für mich ganz unbekanntes und etwas entlegeneres Gebiet. Ich bin riesig gespannt und freue mich schon wie ein Schneekönig! Und natürlich nehme ich dich auf Snapchat wieder mit.
